Sample (blood) taken at home through finger pricking. Our Lipase Level Blood Test detects a biomarker indicating its levels, which helps risk identification for related conditions.
It is an enzyme produced by the pancreas while digesting lipids (fats). Its value, along with that of another enzyme called amylase, can indicate pancreas diseases or failure. Pancreas problems may cause lipase to leak into the bloodstream.
Excessively high or low levels may cause rapid pulse, weight loss, fatty stools, or nausea. Additionaly, they may indicate chronic pancreatitis or cystic fibrosis.
User Instructions
Lipase test sample should be taken in the morning and before taking medication.
For the the best samples, we suggest:
- Staying hydrated before taking a sample.
- Taking a warm shower to improve blood flow.
- Doing light exercise.
- Shaking the test tube gently instead of violently.
- Avoiding a hard squeeze on the finger.
- Not leaving the sample to sit for more than a day to prevent clotting.

How do I get the evaluation?
To analyze and receive Lipase results:

- Put the collected sample into the provided additional box.
- Locate the nearest drop box through the Royal Mail app.
- Place the box into the drop box to be delivered and analyzed.
- Receive your results in 1-3 days.

The typical Lipase test turnaround time is 1-3 days. Do note that while we aim to give you results as quickly as possible, the exact result processing time may vary. We suggest taking your sample from Monday to Thursday to avoid delivery delays from our laboratory.
