What is the Lipase Test?

The pancreas generates lipase during digestion. This enzyme aids in the digestion of lipids in the intestines. However, due to inflammation or injury to the pancreas, lipase can diffuse into the bloodstream.

Commonly known as a serum lipase test, it can determine whether or not levels are elevated. High amounts could signal a pancreas disease or another ailment. At the same time, you may need to evaluate the levels of another enzyme called amylase. This can provide additional information that can aid in diagnosing a pancreas issue.

This will make the process of finding your vein easier. Once she finds a vein, she will insert a needle and draw your blood.
