Kidney Function Home Kit Details
Sample (blood) taken at home through finger pricking. Our Kidney Function Blood Test detects 5 (five) biomarkers.
Kidneys are two small organs which filter toxins in blood for producing urine. Kidneys maintain the balance of various substances. Dysfunction might be caused by factors such as family history (genetic predisposition) or abnormally high blood pressure.
A kidney profile provides information on metabolic health, blood mineral level, and detects kidney diseases or kidney failure.
This exam detects 5 (five) biomarkers indicating the level of:
- Urea
- Creatinine
- Phosphate
- Albumin
- Bicarbonate
Kit Instructions
Kidney sample should be taken in the morning and before taking medication. Please refrain from taking biotin supplements for 2 days before the day of sample collection.
For the the best samples, we suggest:
- Staying hydrated before taking a sample.
- Taking a warm shower to improve blood flow.
- Doing light exercise.
- Shaking the test tube gently instead of violently.
- Avoiding a hard squeeze on the finger.
- Not leaving the sample to sit for more than a day to prevent clotting.

Which Questions Are Frequently Asked?
Q: What role do these organs play?
A: Because they have a number of characteristics, including the ability to filter and eliminate waste from the blood, eliminate excess water from the body, produce hormones that aid in bodily regulation, and modify the quantities of chemicals and minerals in the body.
Q: What can I do to keep kids safe?
A: You can prevent or protect yourself by eating a nutritious diet, controlling your blood sugar, keeping an eye on your blood pressure, drinking lots of water, quitting smoking, being conscious of the medications you take, and getting checked out at least once a year.
Q: What kinds of checks are made?
A: Urea, creatinine, phosphate, albumin, and bicarbonate levels in the kidneys are checked.
Q: What is connected?
A: Diabetes can have an effect because it is the most common cause of CKD. High blood sugar can also harm blood vessels and impair their capacity to filter.
Q: What is the connection between high-pressure control?
A: It weakens the blood supply to the organs and damages the vessels.
Q: What effects might diet have on you?
A: A nutritious diet and way of living can lessen stress and stop or slow the disease’s growth.
Q: What is measured by it?
A: A number of minerals, electrolytes, proteins, and sugar levels are measured.
Scientific Data for Kidneys from Suppliers (Instrument and Reagent)
Method:
Fully automatic biochemical analysis.
Detection limits:
- Urea: 0.9 mmol/L
- Creatinine: 22 umol/L
- Phosphate: 1 mmol/L
- Bicarbonate: 0.749 mmol/L
- Albumin: 10 g/L
Accuracy and Precision:
- Urea: The approximate error is < ± 10%. The within-assay CV is ≤ 5%. The between-assay CV is ≤ 5%.
- Creatinine: The approximate error is < ± 15%. The within-assay CV is ≤ 3.62%. The between-assay CV is ≤ 4.12%.
- Phosphate: The approximate error is < ± 10%. The within-assay CV is ≤ 5%. The between-assay CV is ≤ 10%.
- Bicarbonate: The within-assay CV is ≤ 3.93%. The total precision is ≤ 7.86%.
- Albumin: The approximate error is < ± 4%. The within-assay CV is ≤ 3%. The between-assay CV is ≤ 5%.
Measuring Ranges:
- Urea: 0.9~35.7 mmol/L
- Creatinine: 22~3000 umol/L
- Phosphate: 0~4.0 mmol/L
- Bicarbonate: 0.749~47.1 mmol/L
- Albumin: 10~60 g/L
Validation-Active Information:
- EQA: NA
- Inter-laboratory validations
- Periodic according to the validation schedule.
- Event-triggered.
Accuracy and precision:
The accuracy relies on the approximate error percentage. This percentage is the percentage deviation from the actual result. The precision relies on the within-assay coefficient of variations and the between-assay coefficient. The within-assay coefficient of variations is the variance of the result value if the same kidney sample was analysed again. The between assay coefficient is the variance of the result value if the same sample was reprocessed from the beginning again.
In range results:
Urea: 2.9~8.2 mmol/L
Creatinine:
- Females: 35~80 umol/L
- Males: 44~97 umol/L
Phosphate: 0.81~1.45 mmol/L
Bicarbonate:
- Arterial: 21~28 mmol/L
- Venous: 22~29 mmol/L
Albumin: 34~48 g/L

Organ Performance. Does yours function properly?
A kidney exam is sufficient to look into the condition.
To ascertain whether they are functioning properly, certain labs employ a blood test for kidney function. Dr. Linda Fezzardi, Head of the Analysis Laboratory at the Chelsea Clinical Institute, and I spoke about this.
Is the renal panel something we should do?
A number of tests that are helpful in assessing renal activity are included in the renal panel. Numerous molecules, including as carbohydrates, proteins, mineral salts, and electrolytes, are measured in these assays.
In particular, the renal panel examination comprises the following measurements:
The primary energy source for our body is glucose; proteins like albumin, which play a crucial role in maintaining fluids in blood vessels and in the transportation of hormones and vitamins; minerals like calcium and phosphorus, which are necessary for energy production and proper muscle, nervous system, and heart activity, respectively; electrolytes, which are important for maintaining acid-base balance as well as for other bodily functions; waste products like urea, which the liver releases into the bloodstream and into the organ where it is filtered and eliminated through urine; and creatinine, a waste product made by muscles.
You shouldn’t undervalue the glomerular filtration rate.
The glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), which allows you to estimate the volume of blood filtered by the organ’s glomeruli in a minute, is another kidney screening parameter to look at that can be included in the renal function panel.
The formula for the glomerular filtration rate additionally considers some traits of the subject doing it, including:
- Age,
- Type,
- Race,
- Weight,
- and Height
Renal failure can result from a number of illnesses:
- Infections of the urinary tract;
- computations; deformities;
- inherited illnesses;
- Glomerulonephritis (inflammatory disorders that primarily affect the glomeruli);
- high blood pressure (less frequently);
- and diabetes (less frequently).
The organ’s “cleaning and “process” functions are harmed in renal failure. In general, it is more common in older adults.

The guidelines
Adopting a healthy lifestyle that avoids behaviors and habits like these is advised in addition to tracking activity over time to balance the onset of chronic diseases.
- a sedentary way of living; uncontrolled eating;
- misuse of tobacco and salt;
- prolonged use of drugs
- the degree of renal failure
To determine the degree of renal failure, compute the glomerular filtration rate. This makes it possible to gauge the remaining renal problems and track their development over time.
We categorize further renal failure into various severity phases based on the data:
There aren’t any typical symptoms in the early stages.
The only blood parameters that are changed are creatinine and other levels that express renal function specifically. Red blood cells are then decreased, and levels of uric acid, calcium, phosphorus, bicarbonate, and parathyroid hormone are changed.
Ultimately, in the advanced stage, anemia symptoms worsen, blood pressure readings rise, and different medications are required to fix all the problems that have caused them to stop functioning properly.
Cleaning with machines is likely if the condition deteriorates, that is, if the glomerular filtration rate falls below 10 ml/min.
