Kidney Profile Details
On-site by appointment or clinic walk-in. Our Kidney Function Profile Blood Test detects 5 (five) biomarkers.
Kidneys are two small organs which filter toxins in blood and produce urine. It gives information on metabolic health, blood mineral level, and detects kidney diseases or kidney failure.
This exam detects 5 (five) biomarkers indicating the levels of:
- Urea
- Creatinine
- Phosphate
- Albumin
- Bicarbonate

What are the most common kidney questions?
Q: Why are these organs important?
A: They do a lot of things, like filtering and getting rid of waste from the blood, getting rid of surplus water from the body, making hormones that assist manage your body, and changing the quantities of minerals and chemicals in your body.
Q: What can I do to keep kids safe?
A: To protect yourself and keep yourself from being sick, you can do a few things: eat well, watch your sugar, keep an eye on your blood pressure, drink a lot of water, quit smoking, know what medicines you take, and get a check-up at least once a year.
Q: What kinds of checks are done?
A: A kidney check-up for urea, creatinine, phosphate, albumin, and bicarbonate.
Q: What is connected?
A: Diabetes can have an effect because it is the most common cause of CKD. High sugar levels can also hurt blood vessels and make it harder for the body to filter.
Q: How can you relate high-pressure control?
A: It hurts the blood arteries and lowers the amount of blood that gets to the organs.
Q: How can your diet change you?
A: A healthy diet and way of life can make the condition less severe and stop or slow its course.
Q: What does it check?
A: It checks the levels of a lot of minerals, electrolytes, proteins, and sugar.
Kidney Scientific Data from Supplier (Instrument and Reagent)
Method:
Fully automatic biochemical analysis.
Detection limi:
- Urea: 0.9 mmol/L
- Creatinine: 22 umol/L
- Phosphate: 1 mmol/L
- Bicarbonate: 0.749 mmol/L
- Albumin: 10 g/L
Accuracy and precision:
- Urea: The approximate error is < ± 10%. The within-assay CV is ≤ 5%. The between-assay CV is ≤ 5%.
- Creatinine: The approximate error is < ± 15%. The within-assay CV is ≤ 3.62%. The between-assay CV is ≤ 4.12%.
- Phosphate: The approximate error is < ± 10%. The within-assay CV is ≤ 5%. The between-assay CV is ≤ 10%.
- Bicarbonate: The within-assay CV is ≤ 3.93%. The total precision is ≤ 7.86%.
- Albumin: The approximate error is < ± 4%. The within-assay CV is ≤ 3%. The between-assay CV is ≤ 5%.
Measuring ranges:
- Urea: 0.9~35.7 mmol/L
- Creatinine: 22~3000 umol/L
- Phosphate: 0~4.0 mmol/L
- Bicarbonate: 0.749~47.1 mmol/L
- Albumin: 10~60 g/L
Validation-active information:
- EQA: Yes
- Inter-laboratory validations
- Periodic according to the validation schedule.
- Event-triggered.
Accuracy and precision:
The accuracy relies on the approximate error percentage. This percentage is the percentage deviation from the actual result. The precision relies on the within-assay coefficient of variations and the between-assay coefficient. The within-assay coefficient of variations is the variance of the result value if the same test was analysed again. The between assay coefficient is the variance of the result value if the same sample was reprocessed from the beginning again.
In range results:
Urea: 2.9~8.2 mmol/L
Creatinine:
- Females: 35~80 umol/L
- Males: 44~97 umol/L
Phosphate: 0.81~1.45 mmol/L
Bicarbonate:
- Arterial: 21~28 mmol/L
- Venous: 22~29 mmol/L
Albumin: 34~48 g/L

Performance of organs: Are yours operating well?
A kidney exam is all that’s needed to check on your wellbeing.
Some labs use a blood test to check kidney function to see if they are performing properly. Dr. Linda Fezzardi, who runs the Chelsea Clinical Institute Analysis Laboratory, talked to us about this.
Should we get the kidney panel done?
The renal panel is a group of tests that let doctors check how well the kidneys are working. These tests check how much of different compounds are in the body, such as carbohydrates, proteins, mineral salts, and electrolytes.
The renal panel test specifically measures:
Glucose is the main source of energy for our bodies. Proteins like albumin are important for keeping fluids in the blood vessels and moving hormones and vitamins around. Minerals like phosphorus and calcium are important for making energy, and electrolytes are important for keeping the acid-base balance in the body. Waste products like urea are released by the liver into the bloodstream and then into the organ where they are filtered and removed through urine. Creatinine is a waste product made by muscles.
Don’t underestimate the glomerular filtration rate.
The glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) is another kidney screening measure that may be added to the renal function panel. It tells you how much blood the glomeruli in the organ filter in a minute.
The glomerular filtration rate is a formula that also considers several traits of the person who does it, like:
- Age
- Type
- Race
- Weight
- Height
Several disorders can lead to renal failure:
- Infections in the urinary tract;
- Calculations;
- Malformations;
- Hereditary illnesses;
- Glomerulonephritis (inflammatory disorders that mostly affect the glomeruli, causing swelling all over the body and problems with urination); high blood pressure (less often); and diabetes (less often).
- When the kidneys fail, they can’t clear and process things properly. People who are older are more likely to get it.
Renal failure impairs the kidneys’ filtration and metabolic functions. It is more common in older folks.
The rules
To keep chronic diseases from getting worse, it is also urged that people who are watching their health avoid habits and behaviors like:
- Not moving around much;
- Eating whatever;
- Using too much salt and smoke;
- Taking drugs for a long time.
- How bad the kidney failure is.
To find out how bad the kidney failure is, figure out the glomerular filtration rate. This lets you guess how many kidney problems are still there and keep track of how they change over time.
Based on the information, we separate further kidney failure into distinct levels of severity:
You don’t feel any of the usual symptoms in the beginning.
Only the blood numbers that show how well the kidneys are working, such creatinine, are changed. After that, the levels of uric acid, calcium, phosphorus, bicarbonate, and parathyroid hormone change, and the number of red blood cells goes down.
In the last stage, the symptoms of anemia get worse, blood pressure goes up, and people need to take different medicines to fix all the problems so they can work properly again.
If things go worse, like when the glomerular filtration rate drops below 10 ml/min, machines will probably be used to clean.
