Vaccines are for the Virus
The Papilloma virus, as explained by the initiative’s promoters, spreads through skin-to-skin contact, especially during sexual intercourse. It is the second leading cause of cancer worldwide. The virus can cause lesions, warts, and infertility. It also leads to various forms of cervical cancer (CC), which the World Health Organisation recognises as the first cancer entirely caused by an infection. “It’s important to understand and share that our children can reduce their risk of certain cancers with a simple vaccination—a small act that is really an investment in health,” says Elisabetta Iannelli, general secretary of Favo.
Available vaccines.
In Italy, bivalent and quadrivalent vaccines are already available (effective against 2 and 4 types, respectively), while the nonovalent vaccine (against 9 serotypes) will be available shortly. Suppose the Pap test and the check are available for secondary prevention of CC. In that case, vaccination is the only primary prevention tool capable of preventing precancerous and cancerous lesions caused by the Papillomavirus, which can be life-threatening.
Complicated Process
To conduct the exam, a sample of cells is taken from the cervix, as in a Pap report. The collected material can be streaked or placed in appropriate preservative liquids for liquid-phase cytology or in ad hoc tubes. Is protection real?

These diseases often need repeated treatments and check-ups, costing Italy an estimated 528 million euros annually, not to mention the heavy emotional and physical toll on patients.

This success is thanks to vaccines and screening. “They believed in it and invested heavily in prevention and early diagnosis,” says Professor Carlo Antonio Liverani, from the Milan Polyclinic’s Centre for Genital Pathology.

I found the cost of this test to be very reasonable. It’s definitely more affordable than traditional testing at a clinic and I love that I could get the same accurate results without breaking the bank!

I would also recommend the more expensive version of this test as if you’re positive you will know what type of HPV you have, so it’s worth the price! Somewhere else, you pay more and they don’t tell you what kind of HPV you have!
